#FanGirlFriday: Jordan Younger of “The Balanced Blonde!”

Guys, I cannot tell you how excited I am for today’s FanGirlFriday feature: Jordan Younger of “The Balanced Blonde!” I have been absolutely OBSESSED with Jordan for forever now. Her energy is so captivating and contagious and she is SO sweet! I found Jordan through Instagram and I  was immediately drawn to her. Many of you guys may know her from social media too- she HAS made quite the little empire for herself 🙂 But, for those that aren’t familiar with her, she is the cutie wellness-loving, yoga-posing, girl-boss behind the lifestyle blog The Balanced Blonde. On her blog, you’ll find everything from healthy recipes, wellness hacks, self-care tips, yoga advice, and everything “healthy lifestyle” related! Jordan is so open and real with her “tribe” and that’s why we love her of course- she shares ALL aspects of her life: the good, the bad, and the ugly! Through it all, Jordan…

3 Ways to Meal Prep Vegetables!

Meal prep is my jam. Like, I look forward to it every single week. I would actually do it every single day if I could (but then we’d have a surplus of food in this house.) My hubs actually asked me the other day what my “ideal day” would look like and I said: “Wake up, go workout, come home, have coffee, hang with the kids, work on the blog/business, and then spend the remainder of the day in the kitchen cooking.” Seriously, it just relaxes me so much. But enough about my obsession, let’s get down to biz. So, a huge point of meal prep is that you have lots of healthy options to choose from during the week right? Right. Well, I know a lot of people are always wondering how to fit more veggies into their day or just make veggies taste good! Because they ARE good!…

Cali Kale Salad

Kale has been a hot topic for a while now. Health gurus want you to practically bathe in it. It’s like okay, we get it, it’s good for you! And it is. But I was never (and I’m still not) THAT into it. I know. Sue me. But then one day I wandered into Plum Market in Old Town, Chicago and peeked around their salad bar. Nothing poked out at me except for this amazing looking kale salad- which they call California Kale Slaw. The ingredients are super minimal BUT there was one problem, it was made with canola oil. I know. The travesty. So, what’s a girl to do besides re-create it herself? 🙂 Not saying that I would NEVER eat Plum’s version again because, this is real life right? But this version is JUST as good (promise!) and MUCH more cost-effective. Win Win! This Cali Kale Salad is…

Loving Your Workouts + Staying True To You

Workouts are hard. Loving your workouts are even harder. And recently, I got into a huuuuge workout rut. My workouts stopped feeling exciting, I felt like they stopped working, some days they were too easy, some days they were too hard- sometimes it just felt like a million things had to go right in order for me to get a great workout.  I felt so frustrated and stuck. Can you relate? I was so caught up in this mindset of what everyone else was doing by scrolling through social media. Like, “Oh! She does cardio 5 days a week, I have to do that!” Or, “She does Soul Cycle and she’s super in shape so I have to start doing that!” You know those feelings that creep up on you when you scrolling through Instagram. It’s like walking through Pleasentville. Everything and everyone looks perfect and you only see the…

Lemon Lavender + Blueberry Chia Pudding

You guys ever get a hankering for a huge, giant bowl of creamy chia seed pudding? Good. We can be friends then. Honestly, snack attacks are real and one of my all time fave snacks is chia seed pudding. It’s SO easy and it’s also PACKED with healthy fats and fiber to keep you full until your next meal. Or your next snack. (judge free zone right huuurrr) I used to think you had to wait overnight to let your chia pudding set in the fridge and then I saw Rachl Mansfield BLEND it. My life was changed. It’s ready within seconds- so thick+perfect! Chia seeds are tiny little powerhouses I tell ya. How, you ask? Let me explain: They’re loaded with 11 grams of fiber per ounce! We all know fiber is needed for regular bowel movements AKA poop! No shame in the poop game people! They’re high in…
