#FanGirlFriday: Clare O’Connor

Today’s #FanGirlFriday is a friend of mine! We took classes at Second City together to study acting + scene study and she’s still doin her thang in the entertainment world. I admire Clare because she is so ambitious and keeps herself super busy doing everything she can to follow her dreams. Plus, she’s one of the kindest people I know. And she is a connoisseur of chocolate cake. Read on to learn more about this #girlboss in our interview: I know you’re a busy bee lately with many different jobs and talents! Tell us a little about how you got started with your dancing, and acting and what you’re up to now. I did ten years of ballet/dance training back in Seattle, my hometown. When I moved to Chicago I transitioned mostly to acting, though I was actually here to study fiction writing and drawing/painting at the School of the Art…

#FanGirlFriday: Lesley of Doll in a Dash!

Today’s #FanGirlFriday post is short and sweet, just like this badass business babe Lesley! As some of you know, I got eyelash extensions about a month or so ago and I am IN LOVE. Seriously, I don’t think I can ever go back to not having them. I went to get them done at this cute little place right around the corner from my house called Doll in a Dash, after noticing their cute little neon sign while walking down Erie. I went in to make an appointment and had to make one for three weeks later because they are THAT popular! On the day of my appointment, I went into Doll in a Dash excited that I wouldn’t have to put on mascara every day but, I didn’t expect to meet one of the greatest humans on earth: Lesley. Do you ever just meet someone who restores your faith in…

#FanGirlFriday: Annie Fritz!

It’s that time again! I’m fan-girling hard over this week’s FanGirlFriday feature! You all know how I love strong women who inspire others and you know how much I love all things fitness and health! Well, this week’s #FanGirlFriday feature is a combination of all of those wonderful things! Her name is Annie Fritz and she is a NSCA Certified Personal Trainer and a “Strength + Happiness Enthusiast!” I met Annie at the gym that my husband and I train out of and I really resonated with her story of how she finally found the happy balance between real life, fitness, and nutrition. I hope her story inspires you as much as much as it inspires me! And I hope you can begin to look at working out and training hard as something you GET to do rather than something you HAVE to do. Enjoy! Thank you so much…

#FanGirlFriday: Boss Babes

Anyone know any boss ass business babes who are gettin’ it DONE? When I first started out in the fitness and nutrition industry, I started to follow a bunch of women who inspired me in any way. Whether it be their attitude, lifestyle, or career- I wanted to be motivated! I was about 20 years old when I started to actually work in the fitness industry so I started to follow a ton of “fitness professionals” who would post pictures of their abs and egg whites. Seeing this gave me such a false sense of reality and even furthered my obsession with food and over-exercising. So, I clicked the unfollow button on a bunch of insta-famous peeps and haven’t looked back since. I then started to seek out everyday women who were living a balanced life, making themselves a priority, killin’ the career game, and just inspiring me without…

#FanGirlFriday: My Mama

This week’s #FanGirlFriday just so happens to fall on my birthday! I turn 26 today and I consider myself insanely lucky. I’m alive, I have a husband whom I adore, two kids that I cannot kiss enough, family and friends who support me through everything, I get to go to school again, and I get to workout everyday. I have a pretty amazing life. However, none of this would have been possible without someone in particular. Someone who was in shock when she learned I was growing in her belly (I’m the “best mistake ever”), someone who carried me around for nine whole months, and then had to deal with a colicky baby when I finally arrived. This someone is my mama, Julie. What better time to acknowledge the greatness that is your mother than on your own birthday? My mom is a total babe + a total badass. She has…
