Loving Your Workouts + Staying True To You

Workouts are hard. Loving your workouts are even harder. And recently, I got into a huuuuge workout rut. My workouts stopped feeling exciting, I felt like they stopped working, some days they were too easy, some days they were too hard- sometimes it just felt like a million things had to go right in order for me to get a great workout.  I felt so frustrated and stuck. Can you relate? I was so caught up in this mindset of what everyone else was doing by scrolling through social media. Like, “Oh! She does cardio 5 days a week, I have to do that!” Or, “She does Soul Cycle and she’s super in shape so I have to start doing that!” You know those feelings that creep up on you when you scrolling through Instagram. It’s like walking through Pleasentville. Everything and everyone looks perfect and you only see the…

My Top 10 Gym Bag Essentials

I am a bag lady- a gym bag lady that is. My gym bag is my trusty buddy. My gym bag holds the solution to my problems. Sweaty hair? Grab my gym bag. No ponytail holder? Grab my gym bag. Beet red face? Gym bag to the rescue! I’m gonna give you guys a little sneak peek at the 10 things in my handy dandy bag that gets me from the gym to out on the town (running errands) like a BOSS. Gym Bag Essentials: Extra ponytail holders + clips. I even told AJ to start carrying some around for his clients that forget theirs because long hair swinging in your face during a workout is no bueno. Also, having a lot of layers, my hair can start falling out of a braid or ponytail pretty easily, so back up clips always help! Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo. A…

#FanGirlFriday: Meet Christina Sciarrillo of CMS Nutrition!

I know I say this every single time, but I’m SO excited about Christina Sciarrillo being our FanGirlFriday today! I have been following her journey on Instagram for a few years now and the knowledge and drive this girl has is straight up mind blowing. It’s really hard looking out into the Insta-world and the social media world in general and really trusting someone, but I completely trust Christina because she has the knowledge to back up everything! You may know she recently made the switch from Primitive Paleo to CMS Nutrition- a name that suits her much better because this girl ain’t about labels. She practices what she preaches, which is: doing what works for YOU. Christina studies nutrition and dietetics at The University of Louisiana Lafayette, teaches nutrition + cooking demos at local Whole Foods, develops recipes, shares her amazing knowledge, and recently started a BLOG…

The Art of Slowing Down

The art of slowing down sounds a lot easier than it actually is, but it’s actually been hardest part of my journey so far. That’s why it’s an art, ladies and gents. As most of you who follow me on Instagram know, lately I’ve been very into my mental and spiritual health. I’ve been super focused on having a more positive outlook on life and lessening the stress that my nerves and worries cause me. I come from a long line of women who suffer from anxiety and depression, so this isn’t easy for me. However, I thought I was on the right track… Also, as some of you know, I’ve been working one on one with a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner to work on my digestive issues. I had my nutrition down: I had eliminated all that I could. I had my workouts down: I was doing 5-6 strength training…
