Loving Your Workouts + Staying True To You

Workouts are hard. Loving your workouts are even harder. And recently, I got into a huuuuge workout rut. My workouts stopped feeling exciting, I felt like they stopped working, some days they were too easy, some days they were too hard- sometimes it just felt like a million things had to go right in order for me to get a great workout.  I felt so frustrated and stuck. Can you relate? I was so caught up in this mindset of what everyone else was doing by scrolling through social media. Like, “Oh! She does cardio 5 days a week, I have to do that!” Or, “She does Soul Cycle and she’s super in shape so I have to start doing that!” You know those feelings that creep up on you when you scrolling through Instagram. It’s like walking through Pleasentville. Everything and everyone looks perfect and you only see the…

#FanGirlFriday: Annie Fritz!

It’s that time again! I’m fan-girling hard over this week’s FanGirlFriday feature! You all know how I love strong women who inspire others and you know how much I love all things fitness and health! Well, this week’s #FanGirlFriday feature is a combination of all of those wonderful things! Her name is Annie Fritz and she is a NSCA Certified Personal Trainer and a “Strength + Happiness Enthusiast!” I met Annie at the gym that my husband and I train out of and I really resonated with her story of how she finally found the happy balance between real life, fitness, and nutrition. I hope her story inspires you as much as much as it inspires me! And I hope you can begin to look at working out and training hard as something you GET to do rather than something you HAVE to do. Enjoy! Thank you so much…

There is nothing more relaxing to me than sitting down in the morning at the table with my kiddos and enjoying my coffee while they eat breakfast. I’m really not a coffee snob–any coffee will do. Except Starbucks. (I know, I know- it just tastes straight up burnt to me.) I highly recommend Big Shoulders coffee though- soooo yummy! So, other than making me sane, and happy, and relaxed, coffee is my go to pre-workout drink of choice! I usually workout between 7am-10am so I’ll have one or two cups of coffee with a splash of cashew milk right before I hit the gym. It wakes me up and gives me all the energy I need to go hard! I was never one of those…
